Allo Velo

Another weekend on the road, this time I get to bring you to one of my favorite coffee shops of all time, Allo Velo!

Allo Velo is located in the heart of Montreal’s Griffintown. The area of young professionals is the perfect location for this quaint little coffee and bike shop. The small shop located on Rue Shannon is a bike shop first and a coffee shop second. That does not stop it from being one of my favorites though. The coffee shop is owned by a mother and son. The mother, Fiona, was the first person I met at the shop. She makes one of the best lattes I have ever had. With everything she does, she always has a smile on her face. Their coffee is reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. It is made from organic Italian coffee beans and is consistently tasty. Every time I have gone, I have had a fantastic cup of coffee.

The coffee shop is seating consists of a very comfortable sofa and two more cozy chairs perfect for sitting down to read a book and drink some coffee. There are also several wood tables in chairs great for studying at or reading one of their several books about bikes. The whole coffee area is surrounded by beautiful European bikes. They aren’t just any bikes though. They have many brands; but, my favorite are the Creme bikes. These beautiful bikes make me wish I was better at riding. So if you are ever in Montreal, I recommend you stroll in, grab a cup of coffee, and rent a bike for the road. There is nothing better than a caffeinated ride along the Lachine Canal.
